Albert Einstein once said of filing taxes, “ This is too difficult for a mathematician. It takes a philosopher.”
Professor… If you were alive today you would go “postal” over what I went through today.
I, being the good taxpayer I am (and actually OWED money by my State) tried to file my State taxes today.
But, for some reason, I hadn’t gotten my tax form in the mail yet.
No big deal. I had a few errands to run, so, while I was about town I went to the Post Office to get a copy of the State tax form.
There were none.
There was a long line, and, I wasn’t too far from a bigger Post Office, so I got into my car, and drove to the next town over and went into the Post Office there.
Again, there were none.
There wasn’t a line waiting to mail items, so I approached the counter and asked the mail clerk, “Where do I go for the tax forms?” And her replied, “We didnt get any. I think you have to go to the library.”
Okay….
Well, I have to pass the library on my way back home, so it’s not really out of my way (But it is right next door to the first Post Office I was at. And, if there aren’t any there, it is attached to the “Town Hall” so maybe they have it.)
So I go to the Town Hall and parked and tried their door first, only to find they close at 4:30pm and it was nearly 5pm. So, off to the Library.
Walk in, and there! Right in front of the door, Tax Forms! Yay!
But…
Wait…
Federal… Federal… Federal… Where the heck is the State forms?
I go to the front desk, and there sits a nice lady, and she smiles when she looked up at me and I quietly asked, “Where are the State tax forms?” She smiled and kinda shook her head.
“I am sorry, but they decided to not send any out. They would prefer you file on-line this year.” She gave me a little green paper with a phone number, and where to send the form after I have printed it up and filled it out… but no website address on it.
I inhaled slowly and deeply, thank her and walked slowly to my car.
I controlled my breathing, if I could, though my pulse was pumping at this redundant stupidity, and drive home.
I arrive home, turn on my computer, go to the website for the State and its tax stuff, and, after looking a few times at the lists of various tax forms, I HAVE NO FRICKIN BLOODY CLUE WHICH ONE I NEED!!!!!!
Look you bleeping bureaucratic moronic asinine paper-pushing bleeping idiots! How the Bleeping Hell and I suppose to do the bleeping work if you dont bleeping send me the bleeping forms or bleeping tell me that I need to go to the bleeping website to print it up? And what the bleeping hell is anyone who doesn’t have access to the bleeping internet, nor knows how to use it, is supposed to do? And if you want us to go to your bleeping stupid website you better bleeping make it bleeping easy to figure it out once we are there! If YOU didn’t owe ME I would tell you where you can take your bleeping paperless attitude and shove it up your bleeping bleeping!
